Yaria is a Support hero in Honor of Kings.
Background[]
Originally a young forest doe, Yaria was killed in the war, but was given life again through fate's blessing. Innocent and quaint, she sometimes uses her new abilities to transform back into a doe, running and jumping freely in the quiet forest. With her magical ability to activate the growth of any living thing, she explores the world in high spirits, and wherever she goes, her capricious pranks always cause quite a stir.
Lore[]
A great river divides the Misty Marshes, with the city to the west and forest to the east.
Yaria is closely connected to this forest. Her parents once rescued an injured young deer which, despite their caring efforts, succumbed to its wounds shortly thereafter. The couple had not yet borne any children, but this was soon to change, and the husband and wife were convinced that their newborn daughter was somehow connected to that young deer; she was a human child, but also an embodiment of the deer's spirit.
A few years later, Yaria began studying under the scholar of the Misty Marshes, Guiguzi. Thanks to his guidance, she learned how to use magic to stimulate the growth of living things. With a simple swipe of her vine staff, she could summon vines, and trees to sprout from barren soil. Yaria was not yet adept at her newfound talent, however, and the life forms she created often turned into wisps of smoke soon after.
Yaria's power was growing stronger day by day, and so was her mischievous spirit. Not content with pulling pranks within her small corner of the forest, she dreamed of exploring the entire marshland. One day, she eventually wandered too far and came to a village outside the forest.
This village turned out to be the outskirts of the western city, situated upon land ruled by Eclipse. The villagers were terrified of Yaria, mistaking her for a monster. They tried to kill her and offer her as a sacrifice to Eclipse.
Yaria eventually made it back home at nightfall, covered in mud from head to toe. She recounted the greed and brutality of the villagers to her parents.
Noticing something strange in Yaria's demeanor, her mother questioned, "Were those the only people you saw?"
"I didn't see anyone else," Yaria replied. She had picked up a human habit: lying—though she had not yet learned to lie skillfully.
"N-No one turned up when they were trying to kill me."
"And they didn't call him 'Cirrus'! And he didn't tell me to 'Run home'!"
"I don't want to know where he lives or if he's from someplace far away, and I definitely don't want to know if I'll ever see him again..."
Fate eventually provided an answer to Yaria's questions—she and Cirrus would meet again.
It happened when Guiguzi sent her westward to deliver a message to the city.
No one in that western city had ever seen anyone like Yaria. Children were frightened by her unpredictable muttering, while adults found it hard to tolerate her eccentricities. She was only a teenage girl, but she still managed to send a wave of panic across the so-called "City of Order".
She used magic to take the form of a deer spirit, and pranced around the city. The city guards couldn't catch her though she caused a ruckus everywhere she went. That is, until she broke one of the windows of Tai Yi's palace, at which time Cirrus descended from the sky and blocked Yaria's way.
As she stared at the man, memories flashed before her eyes, and she realized that she'd finally met him once again.
All at once, a million thoughts erupted in Yaria's mind. She blabbered incoherently at Cirrus, and it sounded like nonsense to him. His reply was simple. "Lies."
"Has he forgotten?"
Disappointment welled up in Yaria's heart, but she wouldn't let things end there.
She would make him remember the girl he rescued all those years before.
She would strengthen their bond like a thousand-year-old vine wrapped tightly around a tree. Even the sharpest blade would not be able to sever it.
But when the words reached her mouth, all that came out was:
"The bonds between us are fragile, like young vines in spring."
