Sun Bin

Sun Bin is a Support/Mage hero in Honor of Kings.

Background[]

Sun Bin has always been immensely gifted, but a bit on the quiet side. During his time at Jixia Academy, even though he could manipulate the forces of machinery and even time itself, his peers mostly knew him as a shy and unassuming boy. The only one who truly recognized his talent was one of his seniors, who grew envious and proceeded to lay a deadly trap for him. Though Sun Bin survived, he lost his legs and his best friend. Using his skills in the art of machinery, he created mechanical wings that made up for the loss of his legs, and the young genius now devotes himself to studying the mysteries of mechanics and time in hopes of one day regaining his lost friend.

The Three Sages of Jixia trained many talented disciples, and Sun Bin was one of the best.

Sun Bin was shy but gifted. His creativity uncovered a way to use machinery for warfare, and rulers were falling over each other in their eagerness to retain him. Despite being held in high regard, he remained humble and studious, winning the praise of the people.

But Sun Bin's talent also brought him disaster.

An older student became jealous of Sun Bin and repeatedly slandered him in front of others. Despite this, Sun Bin continued to treat him with the courtesy due to an elder. The onlookers became indignant, especially one of Sun Bin's friends, who repeatedly rebuked the older student for his behavior.

One fateful day, Sun Bin encountered a pack of raging Feralis on the way to some ruins near Jixia. While being chased by the creatures, he tumbled off a cliff and was buried in a ruin. When Sun Bin's friend realized he was missing, he went off in a frantic search. After making his way into the ruins and attempting to save Sun Bin, whose legs were gravely wounded, disaster struck. Some ancient machinery was triggered, causing ripples in the fabric of space-time. Sun Bin watched as his friend was sucked into a dark vortex, leaving behind only a stopped clock.

But this had been no accident—Sun Bin's jealous peer had planned the incident as revenge.

Yet fate had decided to spare the talented Sun Bin, as he was rescued by none other than the great master Mozi. His life was saved, albeit at the price of his legs and his best friend.

The shy youth became even more withdrawn. He immersed himself in machinery tomes day and night, and studied the mysteries of time. He carried the burden of his loss alone, and alone he held onto the conviction that he would find his friend.

While Sun Bin was immersed in his studies on the power of time, Jixia Academy held a great contest—the "Return of Dreams." An enthusiastic youth named Yao invited Sun Bin to join the "Team of Stars." Over the course of the contest, Sun Bin looked for ways to crack the mysteries of ancient machinery to find the answers he sought. However, he found nothing, and when it looked like the competition might require him to sacrifice his precious clock, he became visibly shaken.

Sun Bin returned secretly to the ancient ruins and continued his research.

He did not expect disaster to strike again. During his experiments, Sun Bin lost control of the device that had swallowed his friend, and distorted ripples of space-time trapped him within the ruins. Realizing that he had no friend to rescue him this time, he clutched the stopped clock and began to weep.

Hearing a sudden noise in the darkness, he looked up to see his friends from the Team of Stars. "Don't be scared, crybaby!" One of them shouted. "We're here for you!"

For a moment, their figures melded with the silhouette of his friend in Sun Bin's memory.

Warmth surged in Sun Bin's heart, as strength and hope poured into his body and soul. In the face of his fear, great temporal power exploded within him to resist the dark abyss...

Looking at his companions, Sun Bin finally realized: All bygone things lead to new beginnings, just like that painful memory... just like friendship and love. The stopped clock, too, would tick again one day and open up a new future.

"I want to travel into the past! And to explore the future!"

Hourglass of Time

Type: Passive

Gains a Movement Speed bonus after using skills.

Time Bomb

Type: Active skill

Fires a bomb in the target direction, which deals damage and attaches itself to the hit enemy. After a brief delay, inflicts AoE damage and slow.

Time Flux

Type: Active skill

Timebender and nearby teammates within range gain increased Movement Speed. When the effect ends, restores Health equal to 25% of the damage taken while the effect was active. Passive: Gains Cooldown Reduction.

Time Lapse

Type: Ultimate

Throws a bomb in the target direction, inflicting AoE damage, slow, and silence upon coming in contact with an enemy or reaching its max range. After a brief delay, the bomb deals AoE damage again.

Sun Bin is easy to play. Use Skill 2 when allied heroes need a Movement Speed boost to catch up with or escape enemies. Use Skill 1 or his Ultimate to inflict damage and apply crowd control effects.
Don't go alone because Sun Bin is very squishy. You should go with teammates to help them in the battle.
Sun Bin's Ultimate should be use for not just crowd control but also to inflict slow or deal more damage on the opponents in a team fight. Not only that, but Sun Bin can also use his Ultimate to make his teammates escape a certain death.
