Sima Yi is a Assassin/Mage hero in Honor of Kings.
Background[]
Sima Yi is like a walking shadow, shrouded in the darkness from head to toe, always waiting for an opportunity to strike. He comes from an illustrious Anomalic family, who chose to sacrifice him in cold blood in their struggle for power. Despite spending a short time as a carefree student of the Jixia Academy, he ended up taking the solitary road of vengeance instead. Hidden by his own shadows, he has conjured a giant scythe to reap all who stand before him.
Lore[]
Years ago, while still only a youth, Sima Yi set out from the city of Ye and headed to Jixia. Coming from a family of Anomalics, he often revisited his clan's past during his nightmares. Many of his ancestors had met their tragic ends because of a prophecy. Aside from inheriting these nightmares, he had also inherited exceptional abilities.
Sima Yi and Kongming were both top students at Jixia Academy. They admired each other's skills and became quick friends. They absorbed the wisdom of their sagely masters with impressive speed and were always eager to learn more. After consulting innumerable historical records, the duo departed Jixia. They left their footprints in ancient ruins, and all the way in the sandlands of the west. They were on the hunt for the origin of knowledge.
But Sima Yi's nightmares revealed that his friend would soon become an enemy. Sima Yi returned to Ye, where he was appointed strategist to Cao Cao, commander of the Wei army. At the same time, Kongming took a position as strategist for the Shu kingdom. Both young men had joined the struggle for the Three Kingdoms, but on opposite sides.
The former friends next met at the Battle of the Red Cliffs.
Kongming activated the Eastwind Altar, a powerful ancient artifact with tremendous killing power, dealing a devastating blow to the Ye fleet, which had been made up of Wei ships linked together with chains. A surging wave thrust Sima Yi's ship directly into the path of the artifact's blast.
As the pair crossed swords, Kongming questioned Sima Yi as to why their trust had been broken. "I do not wish to believe the world's prejudices against Anomalic clans, and yet, over the past years, you have aided Cao Cao as he wreaked havoc upon the Three Kingdoms, bringing endless war and suffering."
Sima Yi responded by recounting his own hardships and the truths he had learned from the origin of knowledge.
"Many years past, a prophecy from the origin of knowledge took the Three Kingdoms by storm. This prophecy was a curse upon the Anomalics, and my father died because of it."
"That's why I have spent years searching for the truth about the origin of knowledge—so that I can use its dark power to break the curse."
Countless pitch-black shadows swirled from Sima Yi's body.
"The Battle of the Red Cliffs was only to force you to activate the Eastwind Altar... Its dark power has infused into me, and my energy is refreshed, so... Although I am weakened at the moment... My task is nearly complete..."
Kongming took one final glance at Sima Yi.
"A ruined soul, with unfathomable power."

- Sima Yi's basic combo is 1-BA-2-BA-Ult. Use to get close to the target and to crowd control. Alternate these with enhanced Basic Attacks for high damage, then finish with the for a quick exit.
- Sima Yi, as a hero that could always make an "entrance" into a fight. Especially when both sides want the advantages from the Tyrant or the Overlord, Sima Yi's Ult could be extremely efficient when it comes to stealing the tyrant or the overlord when outnumbered.
- Another strategy for Sima Yi is to improve the accuracy of your placement to maximize your damage. When Sima Yi's is placed, a mark is shown on the ground, and the enemy could easily notice the mark and escape before you could kill them. So, a good strategy is to hide the mark by placing your into a bush or into a wall, increasing the chance to maximize damage.
