Honor of Kings Wiki

Pei is an Assassin hero in Honor of Kings.

Background[]

Pei is a boxer with the ability to transform into an agile and deadly tiger. Loyal, brave, and strong, he was once a member of the Great Wall Guardians. When the Feralis attacked, he attempted to rally for help, but to no avail. While making his way back to the Great Wall, he learned that his commander, Su Lie, was accused of aiding the invaders. In order to discover the truth, Pei joined the mysterious Yaotian Society, and since then, he's been actively punishing evil on the streets of Chang'an.

Lore[]

Pei was once part of the Great Wall Guardians who guarded this majestic ancient miracle under the leadership of their senior officer, and he regarded it as his hometown.

Thousands of Feralis launched a fierce attack on the Great Wall. Fires burned through the pass, and it was a mix of howls from soldiers and warhorses. The guards were not strong enough, and the Great Wall was at risk of destruction.

Pei received an order to seek reinforcements. With his senior officer's letter in hand, he took the form of a tiger and charged out of the Feralis' encirclement. He dashed swiftly through the ancient road that led to Chang'an and sought help from the garrisons on the way. However, none believed the news of the attack on the Great Wall, and so they refused his request.

In a moment of desperation, Pei decided to rush to Chang'an on his own and deliver the letter. He stumbled through the bustling capital, but the guards refused him entry.

Pei displayed the letter to them: "Feralis have attacked the Great Wall! This was personally written by my senior officer..."

The letter was torn apart right before his eyes. The guards told him that His Majesty the Emperor had proclaimed that Pei's senior officer was guilty of colluding with the enemy. It was his senior officer who'd worked with the Feralis to orchestrate the attack.

The guards chased Pei away, and so he walked the streets of Chang'an in dejection. Suddenly, he saw a few familiar faces, and he recognized them as guards who'd once served in the Great Wall Guardians. They were about to attend a banquet of high-ranking officials after receiving commendations for defeating the Feralis and defending the Great Wall.

Pei realized he'd fallen into a grand conspiracy. Someone had betrayed the Great Wall Guardians, stopped the garrisons on the way from sending reinforcements, and used the Ferali invasion to gain military merits. As a result, he lost the senior officer he respected and his beloved comrades, and he was reduced to a lone deserter.

Pei felt extreme despair and pain. He walked forward to greet his acquaintances, and just like that, he was able to attend the banquet and even received a substantial monetary reward.

But money was useless to him.

He sneered as he clenched his fists and grabbed a passing dancer. He planned to watch one final dance in his life, and then...

But he met Arli. Arli made a bet with him and revealed the three secrets that were buried deep within his heart: "You came from the Great Wall, all of you are innocent, and you want to know the truth."

Yes, he still couldn't die yet. He had to investigate the truth behind the conspiracy and prove that they had not betrayed their duty.

Pei accepted Arli's invitation and joined the mysterious "Yaotian Society". Once a soldier of the Great Wall Guardians, now, he was a wanderer on the streets of Chang'an.

During the day, he's a bodyguard for merchants, a master boxer with fists of steel; at night, he carries out missions for the leader of Yaotian Society with Arli, punishing the wicked nobles, upholding justice for the people, and seeking the mastermind of the conspiracy.

Since he left the Great Wall three years ago, Pei seems to have become incapable of returning to the Great Wall he once called his hometown.

But at the very least, he wants to know if another crisis will befall the Great Wall; he wants to know if the senior officer he and his comrades entrusted their lives to was actually a traitor; and he wants the spring breeze of Chang'an to take him—who was now proclaimed to be a deserter of the Great Wall Guardiansؙ—back to the Great Wall...

"Family is whom you miss. Home, is where you return to."

  • Pei's most common combo is Ult-2-BA-1-BA. Use the range advantage of his Human Form to harass enemies from a distance, then, once their Health is low, switch to his Tiger Form for the kill.
  • Pei is extremely strong in early stages of the game, so it is recommended to harass the opponent jungler to gain an advantage in the early game.
