Menki

Menki is a Fighter/Mage hero in Honor of Kings.

Background[]

The dream eaters live in the Forest of Dreams, far away from any human settlement, and fill their stomachs by wandering through the dreams of living beings. One day, during one of these wanderings, a certain little fellow broke into a deity's Dreamscape and was caught in its web. The deity named him "Menki," and the two forged a close friendship. But the good times did not last, and the era of the deities soon passed. With the deity nowhere to be found, Menki was left with only fragments of the Heavenly Scrolls as a keepsake. Even though countless years have passed, Menki has not forgotten his partner's entrustment and continues to care for the keepsake, waiting for the day it can be reunited with its original owner.

Lore[]

The dream eaters are fantastical creatures birthed by heaven and earth. They can enter the dreamscapes of other organisms and eat dreams for sustenance. They live far from the realm of humans in the Forest of Dreams. Only when they have grown to maturity do they set out in search of dreams on which to feast.

On the day of his coming of age ceremony, a young dream eater came to the human world. To fill his rumbling belly, he traversed a multitude of dreams and experienced countless wonders. Fearless, the dream eater even dared sneaking into a place where the superbeings were holding sacred meetings, hiding in an inconspicuous corner and waiting for his chance to munch on their delicious dreams.

However, the superbeings continued with their discussions for days on end, stopping not once to take a rest. Eventually, one of them grew weary of the long meeting. His eyes began to droop, and he soon dozed off. The dream eater had been waiting for this moment and pounced into his dreams.

And what a dream! This was much more magnificent than anything he had encountered before. Floating cities, humans on flying ships, and a blizzard that engulfed it all... The dream eater wandered about for so long that he forgot to leave.

The superbeing sensed the dream eater's presence and grabbed his tail. Frightened, he tried to burrow deeper into the dream. The superbeing laughed and asked, "From where do you come? And where are you going?"

"Can't speak, eh? An eater of dreams... let's call you Menki, shall we?"

The naughty little dream eater popped his head out of the ground, curiously and timidly eyeing up the superbeing. He had not attacked, but rather offered it a name: Menki.

Menki finally mustered up some courage and quietly walked up to the superbeing, who understood the dream eater was accepting.

After that day, Menki would often sneak into the sacred meeting room to fool around. He discovered that its superbeing friend often dozed off during the discussions. Each time, Menki would fly into his dreams, spitting out multicolored bubbles one after the other.

These bubbles allowed Menki to communicate with the superbeing all the wonderful dreamscapes it had encountered. The dry meetings were now a little more interesting, and a warm smile could be seen on the superbeing's face. Before they knew it, they had developed quite the friendship.

Many years later, the War of Superbeings erupted, enveloping the entire world. The superbeings lost the war and were swallowed by the darkness. But Menki stayed by his friend's side, gobbling up an untold number of nightmares.

When the War ended, Menki was exhausted. He fell into a deep slumber as his friend held him tight. The superbeing used his remaining power to heal Menki's wounds, and left him with a keepsake:

"Take good care of this. Next time we meet, be it in a thousand or ten thousand years, remember to return it to me."

The superbeing then disappeared without a trace. Many years passed, and Menki continued traversing the world of dreams. He remembered the task that the superbeing entrusted to him, taking good care of the keepsake and eagerly awaiting the day that they meet again in yet another magnificent dream.

Dream-eating

Type: Passive

Gains Mass when using skills. Mass increases his Physical Attack, Physical Defense, and Magical Defense.

Lingering Dream

Type: Active skill

Gains Mass and a shield while damaging enemies in range. Basic Attack hits reduce this skill's cooldown.

Dream Bubble

Type: Active skill

Launches a bubble in the target direction, then pulls it back. He does thistwice. The bubble damages and slows enemies hit.The bubble can be launched again as a bomb in the target direction, damaging enemies.

Dream Roam

Type: Ultimate

Flies in a circle, dealing magical damage to enemies in his path and gaining. Mass all the while. When he stops flying, he launches and damages nearby enemies.

Menki's most common combo is Ult-Ult-2-1-BA-2.
His Basic Attacks reduce Skill 1's cooldown, so try to weave them in between skills.
