Liang is a Mage hero in Honor of Kings.
Background[]
A level-headed and gifted scholar, Liang was often seen holding an ancient manuscript. As a disciple of the sage Ziya, he had a talent for manipulating the mysterious souls of language. But though he was proficient in all the languages of the world and even had the ability to communicate with the forces of the world, he didn't know how to connect with people. Treating everything in the world with a distant and rational attitude, he is following his master's orders to bring order to the world with the spirit of words.
Lore[]
Dangerous magic slumbered in a dilapidated temple, where an old man named Jiang Ziya lived. To find a suitable disciple to accomplish his goal, he carefully picked several of the most talented people in the world and taught them sorcery at the temple.
Liang was among the chosen, and the most unique of the lot. He never learned any of the existing sorcery from Jiang Ziya, but instead created his own version, which he called Power Word.
With the strength of Power Word, Liang broke the barrier between languages, mastering almost every language spoken by humans. In his ears, the voices of every living being were one. By extension, he could talk to the land and even communicate with the world, and this took him closer to the truth than anyone had ever been. To him, common sorcery was child's play.
Even Jiang Ziya trembled at Liang's strength, and Liang saw endless possibilities.
Since he had a better understanding of the world than anyone else, he was no longer an ordinary human. If he wanted to, he could become a deity.
"Perhaps this disciple of mine could restore order to this world," thought Jiang Ziya, so he explained his vision for the world to Liang.
Then Liang traveled back into the world and was immediately confronted with a Misty Marshes divided by conflict. He also encountered Liu Bang and Xiang Yu.
Was Xiang Yu, the rising youth, the reincarnated Dark Master as predicted by his teacher?
Liang expected his biggest obstacles to be brutal battles or treacherous manipulations, but he was wrong: It turned out to be simple survival.
After living in the temple for a long time, Liang had become completely out of touch with the world. His mastery over sorcery was godlike, but he struggled to find his next meal. If it weren't for Liu Bang's help, he probably would have starved to death. He knew all the languages of the world, but he couldn't tell whether someone was telling the truth. His ideas were ahead of everyone, but he had no idea how to forge ahead in the real world.
Before finding the Dark Master, it was more important to find something to fill his belly.
He needed to learn how to survive before he could make his mark on the world with his sorcery.
