Dun is a Tank/Fighter hero in Honor Of Kings

Background[]

Dun was once a mercenary, a pursuit he followed not out of a desire for gold but because he had run out of worthy opponents. Known to have killed hundreds of men, he struck fear into the hearts of bandits everywhere. While the weak fell prey to money, Dun alone stood out in his desire to challenge the strong, even at the cost of an eye. Thus, when Cao Cao promised him limitless challenges if he joined his army, the one-eyed mercenary was all too happy to pick up his broadsword and continue fighting for the rest of his life.

Lore[]

Across the vast desert, Dun is known as the "Maverick Mercenary." It is said that whenever he throws his chain blade, known as the "Unruly Blade," he sneaks up on his target like a gust of wind and chops them down with his sword.

The legend of Dun's "hundred-person beheading" terrifies robbers and bandits alike. No one knows where he comes from, but everyone knows about his incredible strength. His reputation is second only to the legendary mercenary group "Dragon".

One evening, at an inn where mercenaries gathered, a suspicious man hiding under a black cloak piled a load of gold atop the bar, attracting the attention of everyone there.

"Go there and all this gold belongs to you." The man dressed in black spread out a map that had been scribbled all over and pointed to a place. The mercenaries chattered with excitement; This was a bounty they could only dream of!

"Unexplained business deals are always suspicious," Dun declared dubiously as he wiped down his blade.

"Afraid, are we?"

"No, but I'd be more tempted by a duel with you than your gold."

Dun's voice was drowned out by noise, as everyone gleefully took the gold and promised to meet at the given location.

Not long after, mercenaries, nomads, and those fleeing famine all poured out into the barren wasteland. Standing amidst dilapidated buildings, people talked about the upcoming mission, and whether they should pillage or get ready to be raided by nomads.

Unfortunately, what the mysterious man really wanted was their lives.

As Cao Cao was immersed in the satisfaction of his successful strategy, Dun staggered on wobbly legs, grasping his blade as if preparing to attack.

As he cast his spell from the sidelines, a look of shock crossed Sima Yi's face. He didn't expect anyone to be able to escape from his spell. He suddenly realized that Dun had paid the price of an eye in exchange for his life.

"You wish to avenge your companions?" Cao Cao burst out laughing, "You will die in vain."

"My foster father taught me how to survive from a young age," Dun said, "people talk about survival of the fittest, but I believe that iron sharpens iron. I'm strong, but I can get even stronger by challenging you. So come on, let's duel!"

The man dressed in black sensed danger. He wanted to strike first, but Cao Cao stopped him. "Why don't you join me? I promise you'll face opponents more worthy of a duel."

Dun brandished his blade, "You'd better watch out then. The day I run out of opponents, I'll duel you!"

Dun hadn't told Cao Cao, but when one of his eyes was blinded, it awakened memories stored deep within his mind, and he began thinking about his past and what he wanted to protect...

Dun decided to follow Cao Cao for a time. Eventually, a day would come when he'd be strong enough to avenge his companions and protect what he wanted to protect.

A faint pain emanates from his blinded eye that seems to be hiding his past.

"Losing an eye isn't so bad... Gives you that rugged look..."

  • Dun's most common skill combo sequences is 1-Ult-1-2.
  • He can use Flash during the second phase of Skill 1 Skill 1 to crowd control unsuspecting enemies.
  • Dun is capable of initiating combat well and often takes responsibility for starting fights. The equipment he carries can ensure that he has enough time to adjust the position to launch skills to secure his advantage.
  • Dun's skills cooldown reduces for each basic attack, hence great for sustainability fights. Ultilise this and ensure squishy enemies are within the range of the fight using Dun's Ult and even refresh the Ult's cooldown through farming of minions and creeps.
