Honor of Kings Wiki

Dr Bian is a Mage hero in Honor of Kings.

Background[]

Dr Bian was once a kind doctor committed to curing diseases and saving lives. With his expert medical skills, he managed to save countless patients. However, he was later framed by his master and accused of poisoning the Lord of Yong, a betrayal that almost caused his death. Since then, he no longer trusts anyone and instead spends all his time on gruesome drug trials and research into poisons in the name of revenge.

Lore[]

Dr. Bian had been living with his mentor, Xu Fu, since he could remember. He was once an innocent youth who studied medicine with a passion to save the world. Dr. Bian always felt extremely proud whenever he saw a patient recovering because of his treatment. However, never in those days did Dr. Bian notice how his mentor, Xu Fu, was suspiciously covering his tracks, nor did he notice the vigilance and fear that flashed through his mentor's eyes. Until one seemingly ordinary day, his mentor left with the first-aid kit to visit a patient and never came back.

Dr. Bian was forced to start seeing patients on his own, and he saved countless lives with his excellent medical skills. While passing through Jixia, Dr. Bian learned of an ancient medical technique, one capable of regenerating an injured body, making an aged face youthful again. The people vaguely regarded this inconceivable technique as a part of "sorcery", and it was a taboo that they were unwilling to talk about. As Dr. Bian's reputation as a "divine doctor" spread, the Sovereign of Yong sought his treatment too. But the man who actually met Dr. Bian was his long-lost mentor, Xu Fu, who was now Queen Mother Mi Yue's most trusted royal physician.

Dr. Bian cured the Sovereign of Yong successfully, but Xu Fu requested that Dr. Bian stay behind to help him with secret surgical experiments that involved sorcery. The unsuspecting Dr. Bian agreed to his mentor's request. However, as soon as the surgery was over, Xu Fu tore off the mask of kindness he'd been wearing. The Sovereign of Yong was poisoned to death, and Dr. Bian was arrested as the culprit. Only now did Dr. Bian realize that he'd been framed by the person he trusted the most.

In his moment of desperation, Dr. Bian recalled the surgery's anesthetics that were hidden between the layers of his sash. Dr. Bian was able to seize an opportunity to drug the jailer and escape Yong. But his mentor had no intention of letting him escape. Assassins caught up to Dr. Bian near Jixia, and they dug open a huge hole and buried him alive. Dr. Bian collapsed into a pit of despair. He thought death was upon him. But a sudden rainstorm washed away the rocks, and as the cliff collapsed, Dr. Bian broke free from the grasps of the soil and fell into the darkness below.

When Dr. Bian regained consciousness, he found himself in a quiet underground city, one that seemed to be the ancient city in the legends. Mysterious and dim light illuminated never-before-seen writing, records of a civilization of sorcery from the ancient times. Dr. Bian rubbed the strange writing onto his clothes and brought it back to the surface. From that moment onward, the once kind and innocent doctor was replaced by a cold and heartless doctor who ignored the laws. Dr. Bian demanded large sums from patients who came to him for treatment, and colleagues who sought help from him were asked for dissection materials. He stopped trusting people, stopped concerning himself with what others thought, and his sole focus was on carrying out terrifying experiments.

Dr. Bian's mentor was once his only loved one, yet that very loved one tried his best to kill him. So, Dr. Bian decided that no matter the price he paid, he would surpass his mentor, Xu Fu, and strike the lethal blow.

"Shall I let you live, or let you die?"

  • Dr Bian's most common skill combo is BA-1-BA-2-Ult. Before entering a fight, he can first stack healing marks on himself and his teammates using Skill 2 Skill 2 to improve survivability.
  • Dr Bian doesn't have Crowd Control, instead he can give healing to allies with his Skill 2 Skill 2 and Ultimate Ultimate.
  • Dr. Bian thrives with a dedicated tank (either Jungler, Roamer, or Clash Laner) by his side from Mid to Late game. This teammate provides crucial Crowd Control while you focus on healing.
  • Dr. Bian is weak early. Prioritize farming and avoid confrontations until you secure your first core item (excluding boots). Patience is key to scaling into the late game.
  • Dr. Bian's Ultimate Ultimate is versatile. Use it defensively to save yourself or allies, or offensively to execute enemies with maximum poison stacks. Its low cooldown allows for frequent use, but always be mindful of its strategic application.
  • Itemization:
    • Prioritize either Augur's Word for survivability or Holy Grail for mana sustain. Ideally, acquire both as core items.
    • After obtaining Holy Grail, freely use Dr. Bian's Skill 2 Skill 2.
    • While Twilight Stream's magic penetration passive synergizes with Dr. Bian's poison, Void Staff is generally preferred. It provides better tank-shredding capabilities, allowing you to poke enemy tanks effectively. Only consider Twilight Stream if your team has a significant gold advantage.
    • Always purchase Venomous Staff as your second item when facing heroes with high health regeneration such as Augran, Cai Yan, or Fatih.
