Donghuang

Donghuang is a Support/Tank hero in Honor of Kings.

Background[]

He did not want to settle for the end that all mediocre beings inevitably march toward, so he completed the trials and became Donghuang the Seer. However, even when the truth about the Wonder was exposed and it was revealed that nothing had changed, he still chose to devour their power and became a demigod. Now he resides in his palace high above Misty Marshes, and is revered by the Omniscient. This, however, is not his final goal. One day, he will take all the powers of the Wonder and reign absolute over this world.

This is Donghuang's life creed.

Although he was just an ordinary being, he had an unyielding and cold heart. Unwilling to age and die like the rest, he longed for eternal life, for he believed that only by achieving this would he attain true greatness.

He once witnessed Nuwa's appearance from a distance in Celestia. In just a glance, the majesty and power of the superbeing evoked an endless longing.

But this reverence was broken by the Spell of Reincarnation, as it allowed Donghuang to see the true nature of the superbeings.

It turned out that the superbeings also weakened and aged. They also feared death and thirsted for eternal life. The truth was, even superbeings were not immortals.

In an instant, the boundaries between superbeings, humans, and Feralis were completely shattered, and a fantastical thought came to Donghuang: Could he, a human, also become a deity?

This obsession took root in Donghuang's mind for many years until one day, when the sun was covered by an eclipse, he went into the dense forest of the Riverlands and tried the Spell of Reincarnation on himself.

As he'd desired, Donghuang became the first in the world to become similar to a superbeing, mastering power, evolution, and the possibility of endless reincarnation through the branches of the Tree of Reincarnation.

Donghuang was ecstatic that he now held a power that even the deities of Celestia dreamed of—eternal life. Had he truly bridged the path between man and deity?

However, something strange happened soon after—the branches of the Tree of Reincarnation lost their glory. Was he now nothing but a false deity?

He could not stand his return to mediocrity. After endless experiments, reflection, and attempts, he found the way to keep the Spell of Reincarnation going: by holding a special ritual to draw the power of nature and to devour the sunlight, the life of rivers, floating clouds, forests, and everything in heaven and earth.

As this Wonder absorbed the power of nature, he returned to his former glory. Donghuang also transformed a group of Omniscients and ordered them to rule the Riverlands to win the faith and worship of the ignorant masses.

Once a mediocre being, he now enjoyed the devoted worship of his followers. He had finally proved to the world that humans, too, can come infinitely close to deities.

Soul Sacrifice

Type: Passive

Every time a dark orb passes through an enemy, it damages and restores Health to him.

Eclipse

Type: Active skill

Deals damage to enemies in range and summons a dark orb. Donghuang can have up to have 3 dark orbs at a time. Hitting enemies with this skill reduces its cooldown.

Dark Impact

Type: Active skill

Unleashes up to 3 dark orbs at the target location, increasing own Movement Speed and dealing damage to enemies in range. The 1st and 2nd dark orbs slow enemies. The 3rd dark orb stuns enemies.

Forsaken Contract

Type: Ultimate

Suppresses an enemy hero and summons 3 dark orbslf he or the target is damaged during suppression, the other will take thesame amount of damage.

Donghuang is difficult to master. Make sure to have 3 dark orbs up at all times.
Remember to target enemy assassins in fights.
When using his Ultimate, Donghuang can delibarately go under enemy towers because while the Forsaken Contract is active, the tower attacks aimed at Donghuang will also damage the suppressed hero. He can use this astute to quickly reduce enemy health while on the lane.
