Honor of Kings Wiki

Agudo (who was formally a Tank) is a Marksman hero in Honor of Kings.

Background[]

Agudo is a true child of the wild. Her best friend is a giant creature called Furball, and together they are a force unto themselves even against great armies. Having lived in the dense woods covering the hills of the Three Kingdoms region from a young age, Agudo has become a true expert on all herbs and plant-based medicines, and she can communicate with wild animals and beasts. Agudo can bring large seed bombs to bear on the battlefield—often causing great confusion among her enemies and call out to the animals of the forest for aid until the forest's despoilers truly understand the power of the mountain.

Lore[]

A young girl raised by Feralis and the Forest Child who fought alongside humans. This is Agudo, the wonder soldier famed throughout Yi.

As an infant, Agudo was abandoned deep in the mountains and adopted by its beastly inhabitants. She and Furball became fast friends, and they roamed all around, discovering magical seeds and mingling with other Feralis and wild animals. Over time, Agudo became one with the mountains, and despite being the only of her kind, she never felt alone.

The year the war broke out in the Three Kingdoms, the flames of war reached the mountains, and Agudo's home was hit by famine. To help their kin through the cruel winter, Agudo and Furball sneaked out of the mountains and stole food from the humans. The Yi army of the Shu kingdom caught them but eventually let them go. The troops even surprised them by giving them lots of food to take home.

After that experience, Agudo saw humans in a new light. Along with Furball, she eventually returned to Yi with medicinal herbs from the mountains and the power of the Forest Child. This move reinvigorated the righteous Yi troops and served as a historic turning point for the humans and Feralis of the Three Kingdoms.

Forest Child[]

In the southwest of Shu was a long mountain ridge that had nurtured magical beings since ancient times. The region was home to Feralis, exotic beasts, and even magical forests that could move. After humans arrived with their mechcrafts, conflicts broke out over resources, and eventually, the Feralis had to retreat deeper into the mountains.

The human baby, Agudo, was found in the middle of the mountains in a place where people were rarely seen. When a young Furball peeled away the dead wood covering the hole in the tree, Agudo simply giggled. Delighted, Furball took her back to the village. By the time the other Feralis discovered her, she had already become Furball's companion.

Agudo lived in the Ferali village and grew into a wild but upright child. Every day she roamed the mountains with Furball and the other animals. At age five, she and Furball accidentally wandered into a magical forest. Lost and starving, Agudo spotted a huge, glowing ancient tree. When she awoke, it was already the evening of the third day. The forest was gone, and only a green seed in her palm proved that it hadn't been a dream.

At dawn, they returned to the village. Torches were still burning, and the panda guards notified the search parties that Agudo and Furball had been located. The village chief whacked Agudo and Furball on their heads with his cane, rebuking them sternly, but he then softened and stayed with the two frightened children until they went to sleep. He told them the story of the Void Forest, an elusive forest that moved between the mountains. Those who went in never came out. Upon hearing this, Agudo became even more excited while holding the glowing seed in her hand.

In the following days, Agudo became more daring in exploring the woods as she tried to find the magical forest again. Though she never succeeded, she learned all the mountain trails by heart. From seeds that explode when stepped on to hollow vines that spread underground, she knew the native flora like the back of her hand.

Agudo might have spent her entire life as a carefree mountain dweller, but everything changed one late autumn. A war that had begun outside the mountains soon spread deep inside. Food became scarce, and conditions became unbearable. After much deliberation, the chief decided to lead the villagers deeper into the mountains once again.

The night before leaving, Agudo and Furball hung around the village, watching the lanterns go out one after another. She recalled the torches that had greeted her when she returned from the Void Forest. Her family embraced her, the elders reprimanded her, and the children wanted to hear about her adventures. Despite being the odd one out, she never stopped feeling the warmth of her family. She never wanted those lanterns to go out.

Agudo broke off a branch at the village entrance and left with the magical seed in her pocket. She had a plan that would provide food for everyone.

After all, this was the only home she'd ever known, and she wouldn't give it up for anything.

Mountain Bandit[]

Agudo and Furball crouched in the shadows outside the Shu camp for the seventh time.

There was no moon, and the camp was surprisingly quiet. They rolled onward, Agudo estimating they'd have to turn only four more corners before they reached their goal. Already she had begun to imagine taking a bite. Just three more turns... two more... Bam!

All of a sudden, Furball stopped sharply, and Agudo was thrown to the ground. She drew her slingshot the moment she hit the ground and aimed at the enemy in the dark with her beastly instincts. Seeing this, Furball covered its mouth to avoid sneezing again at an inopportune moment. Cold sweat rolled down Agudo's forehead as she recognized the camp's third-in-command—a scary fellow with the strength of a gorilla when angered.

Time stood still. After a while, the officer staggered towards her, muttering slurred words that were impossible to make out. He walked straight past the motionless Agudo and Furball.

Had he been sleepwalking? Apparently, people could sleep with their eyes open. Agudo breathed a sigh of relief, patted Furball's head, and continued rolling towards the camp.

With no one to stop them, they cleared out the rations in no time. At Agudo's whistle, her companions sprang from their hiding places in the forest and carried the rations into the mountains. With all this food, the village wouldn't have to relocate. Come the following spring, they could plant the seeds for the next year.

But what mattered most to Agudo was that she had won!

Agudo glanced back, swelling with pride while watching the camp lights and hearing the chatter. For once, she had not been caught by the troublesome Mr. Fan. She remembered being caught by him during her first raid. She'd put on her most horrifying voice, saying that she'd eat them all up and... why were they laughing? The second time she sneaked in with Furball, she was knocked out by the roar of the "gorilla" man. It had been embarrassing, but no one mentioned it after she woke up, and they left after being served food. And the third time, after a meal, Mr. Fan chatted with her on the roof, telling her that the mountain was being cleared to build defensive structures. But if everyone kept moving deeper into the mountains, wouldn't they run out of room eventually? Could Agudo accept that?

"Of course not," Agudo said aloud without realizing it. Mr. Fan's eyes reminded her of the blue pheasant she had seen in the Void Forest.

Then came the fourth, fifth, and sixth time. Though they were annoying, they didn't actually eat her up. Was the outside world really as scary as the chief had said? If all their rations were taken, would the camp survive the winter, or would they starve before reaching their homes?

Agudo started to feel conflicted.

Just then, the first rays of light shone through. Within the camp, a meeting of the Shu army was nearing its end. Embarrassed, Zhang Fei scratched his head with his spear. "Were we noticed? They should've finished moving the rations by now... According to the scout, everything went well, so there should be enough for the mountain folks to get through this."

Kongming buried his head in the map, studying it while giving orders. "We'll continue marching towards Heavenly Path tomorrow. We will not change course."

"Really? The mountain road might be faster, but it's foggy these past few days..."

Suddenly they heard something fall outside the tent.

Zhang Fei leaped from the window, shield in hand, and scanned his surroundings. In the hazy morning sun, his eyes landed on a little child and a beast standing outside the camp. Though the distance seemed far to him, he knew it was nothing for the beast.

The child stood high on the giant beast's head, her tiny and childish voice in stark contrast to her haughty tone: "I know the way through Heavenly Path!" She then added, "And... this is your reward for paying tribute to me!" She then turned around and disappeared into the forest.

In astonishment, Zhang Fei returned to the tent: "Did you foresee this..?"

Kongming smiled without a word.
